Advent 2C

The silk poinsettias and greens gracing the altar in celebration of our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ's 2003 Birthday are in memory of family & loved ones of our historic & beloved church, donated by Victor A. Safay.

We invite you to maintain a spirit of silence as the prelude begins our service.

The Blessing of the Tree

The Lighting of the Second Advent Candle
By Paul Tillich

Our time is a time of waiting;
WAITING IS ITS SPECIAL DESTINY.
And every time is a time of waiting,
WAITING FOR THE BREAKING OF ETERNITY.
All time runs forward.
ALL TIME, BOTH HISTORY AND PERSONAL LIFE, IS EXPECTATION.
Time itself is waiting,
WAITING NOT FOR ANOTHER TIME, BUT FOR THAT WHICH IS ETERNAL.

Light the second candle.

Let us be before our God in silence.
