Eagle Scout ceremony at the Parish House
On Saturday, June 12th an Eagle Scout Investiture ceremony took place at the Parish House. Honored were Eagle Scouts Corey Koray, Kulcu-Roca and Kenneth William Shields Jr. The ceremony was sponsored the scoutmaster, Robert Buonvino, the Troop 20 committee, the Lenape Bay District of the Brooklyn Council and the consistory of the New Utrecht Reformed Church. Thanks to all who attended!

Rev. Ann Akers celebrates 25 years as minister
Rev. Ann Akers, former pastor of New Utrecht Reformed Church in the 1980s and now a psychoanalyst, pastoral counselor and founder of Beyond the Scale, Inc., celebrated 25 years as a minister today!

Extra envelopes for the Restoration Fund
Extra envelopes will be provided for the New Utrecht Reformed Church Restoration Fund at each Sunday service. Please contribute generously. 

Saturday, June 19: Outreach visit from Carmel, Iowa
On Saturday, June 19th an outreach visit from Carmel, Iowa will take place. 25 volunteers, including kids ages 4-12 will visit New Utrecht Church from 2-4 PM. If you wish to volunteer, please call 718-236-0678.

Sunday, June 20: Men of Valor
Next Sunday June 20th, Father's Day, during service, New Utrecht Reformed Church will honor three Men of Valor, Sons of Aaron: Bob Buonvino, president of Friends of Historic New Utrecht, Gene Ander and Victor Safay. State Senator Martin Golden will receive the Legislative Leadership Award.

Sunday, June 20: Inaugural Worship Committee meeting 
An inaugural Worship Committee meeting, led by Elder Erik Ander, will take place after the Father's Day service.

The Web Editor of New Utrecht Reformed Church, Vincent La Marca, has registered newutrechtchurch.org and purchased server space on behalf of the church. This site moved to the new web address on the night of Mother's Day, May 9th!

Rev. Bob Peterson leads the choir!
The Rev. Bob Peterson, our organist, is leading the choir once again. Bob Peterson was active as choir director until last December. We are glad to have him back after his stay in California! 

Ongoing Food Drive
Deacon Debbie Siciargo has started a ongoing Food Drive. The donations are somewhat less than expected. Please buy a little extra of nonperishable food for the needy and bring the items to the collection basket at the Parish House before service.

July 22 - 24, 2004: RCA Women's Triennial
On July 22 - 24, 2004, the RCA Women's Triennial - a Celebration of Faith for Women will take place at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA. The theme for 2004 is "Let Us Encourage One Another" (Hebrews 10:23-25).

A fund raising event for the restoration of our church. Details to follow.

Sunday, October 17: Commission of our Rev. Terry Troia
On Sunday, October 17 at 3 PM, New Utrecht Reformed Church will be commemorating the Rev. Terry Troia's 10th anniversary as minister of this church. A journal will be available for this event, which will benefit the New Utrecht Reformed Church Restoration Fund. More details to follow.

Please help the day laborers by buttering rolls
The next tentatively scheduled roll buttering will take place on Sunday, June 27th after service. The buttering rolls, to help the day laborers in Bensonhurst, takes place every other Sunday at the Parish House and is a joint project with Bay Ridge United Church.
