Street renamed after Friends leader

The corner of 83rd St. and 18th Ave. was renamed Robert M. Buonvino Place at a ceremony on the morning of Saturday, Sept. 26. Relatives of the late Troop 20 Scoutmaster and Friends of Historic New Utrecht President unveiled the street sign. Politicians and community leaders remembered the historian, who died Mar. 19, as one who supported the restoration of the historic New Utrecht Reformed Church, the preservation of the Liberty Pole and the living history of New Utrecht.
