350th anniversary 
Flatbush Reformed Church will celebrate its 350th
anniversary soon. Members of New Utrecht Reformed Church and other
churches
of the Classis of Brooklyn
are invited. Please speak to Rita Hollenga
at next Sunday's service if you wish to attend. 
 
Lenten Bible Study:
March 21 and 28 
March 7th we did Esther and the Story of Purim and today we did Exodus
and the Passover
Story. On Sunday, March 21st and Sunday, March 28th
the Rev. Terry Troia will do Lenten Bible Study at the Parish House. 
 
Ash Wednesday: A Korean-English service 
On Wednesday,
February 25th the New Utrecht Reformed Church and the Mirral Church
celebrated a joint Ash Wednesday service at the Parish House. Ministers
from both congregations distributed ashes. This is the first time that
the Mirral congregation celebrated an Ash Wednesday service. Coffee and
doughnuts was served after service.
 
Sunday, April 18th: Women of Valor Sunday 
On Sunday, April 18th during the 11 AM service the New Utrecht Reformed
Church will hold Women of Valor Sunday. This year's honorees are Elder
Louise Fabiszak, Mary Shields of Boy Scout Troop 20 and Esther Kim of
the Mirral Church.

Please help the
day laborers by buttering rolls 
The next tentatively scheduled roll
buttering will take place next Sunday, March 21st after service. The
buttering rolls, to help the day laborers in Bensonhurst, takes place
every other Sunday at the Parish House and is a joint project with Bay
Ridge United Church.

Anna Schroeder, who is in the
hospital;  
Fran Erickson, who slipped on ice
and broke her toe and is recovering;  
the Rev. Bob Peterson, our organist,
who suffers from Parkinson's Disease and who will have surgery on
Tuesday;  
Marion Hodgman, who had surgery; 
Eugene Ruotolo at Jewish
Geriatric Center;
 
Vivian Loew, wife of the
pastor of the Chinese Christian Church, who died on Saturday, February
7th from cancer and 
Albert Hollenga, who died one year
