Easter Memorial Listings
This year the altar will not be graced with fresh lilies; however we will continue the memorial list of loved ones or in honor of a loved one. Your donations will be given to the Easter Restoration Fund in lieu of fresh lilies.

Easter Egg Hunt
On Easter Sunday we will have an Easter Egg Hunt for the neighborhood children, followed by a pot luck Easter Dinner. Please plan on staying with us for this special holiday meal!


Special Bible Study: April 4th
On March 7th we did Esther and the Story of Purim and on March 14th we did Exodus and the Passover Story. On Palm Sunday, April 4th at 12:30 PM (after service) the Rev. Terry Troia will do Special Bible Study at the Parish House: "Who Killed Jesus?"

The Rev. Bob Peterson to return to New Utrecht
The Rev. Bob Peterson, our organist, will return to the New York Metropolitan area on Monday, April 5th. He may appear at New Utrecht church on Easter Sunday, April 11th but will not be able to play. 

Rev. Troia, Rose Lood honored
The Rev. Terry Troia, minister of New Utrecht church, was honored at City Hall on Wednesday, March 24th, by Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields. Also on Wednesday, Deacon Rose Lood was one of ten women honored by State Senator Martin J. Golden.

Ongoing Food Drive started
Deacon Debbie Siciargo has started a ongoing Food Drive. Please buy a little extra of nonperishable food for the needy and bring the items to the collection basket at the Parish House before service.

Ash Wednesday: A Korean-English service
On Wednesday, February 25th the New Utrecht Reformed Church and the Mirral Church celebrated a joint Ash Wednesday service at the Parish House. Ministers from both congregations distributed ashes. This is the first time that the Mirral congregation celebrated an Ash Wednesday service. Coffee and doughnuts was served after service.

Sunday, April 18th: Women of Valor Sunday
On Sunday, April 18th during the 11 AM service the New Utrecht Reformed Church will hold Women of Valor Sunday. This year's honorees are Elder Louise Fabiszak, Mary Shields of Boy Scout Troop 20 and Esther Kim of the Mirral Church.
Please help the Bensonhurst Volunteer Ambulance Service
Just as our church needs funds to repair the sanctuary, the Bensonhurst Volunteer Ambulance Service also needs funds.  New Utrecht Reformed Church is trying to raise $200 for BVAS. Donations of $5-10 are appreciated. Please see a consistory member after next Sunday's service.

July 22 - 24, 2004: RCA Women's Triennial
On July 22 - 24, 2004, the RCA Women's Triennial - a Celebration of Faith for Women will take place at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, CA. The theme for 2004 is "Let Us Encourage One Another" (Hebrews 10:23-25).

Please help the day laborers by buttering rolls
The next tentatively scheduled roll buttering will take place
on Sunday, April 18th after service. The buttering rolls, to help the day laborers in Bensonhurst, takes place every other Sunday at the Parish House and is a joint project with Bay Ridge United Church.

Pray for...
Anna Schroeder, who is in the hospital;
Fran Erickson, who slipped on ice and broke her toe and is recovering;
the Rev. Bob Peterson, our organist, who suffers from Parkinson's Disease;
Marion Hodgman, who had surgery and
Eugene Ruotolo at Jewish Geriatric Center.
