Easter 4C
The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper

(Third Sunday after Easter)

The flowers gracing the altar are given to the glory of God and in memory of our beloved Josephine Anna Safay's First Anniversary in heaven with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by her family.

The Eucharist this morning is offered in memory of Josephine Safay and Henry (Hank) Erickson.

The three variegated English Hollys are planted in memory of Charles Lood, Henry (Hank) Erickson and Josephine and Henry Safay.

We invite you to maintain a spirit of silence as the prelude begins our service

Introit "Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus”

Welcome

WITH MY WHOLE HEART I SEEK YOU; DO NOT LET ME STRAY FROM YOUR COMMANDMENTS. I TREASURE YOUR WORD IN MY HEART, SO THAT I MAY NOT SIN AGAINST YOU. BLESSED ARE YOU, O LORD; TEACH ME YOUR STATUES. WITH MY LIPS MAY I DECLARE ALL THE ORDINANCES OF YOUR MOUTH.

Kyrie (sung)
LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US.
CHRIST, HAVE MERCY ON US.
LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US.

A Word of Assurance: Revelation 7:16-17

The Summary of God's Law (Mark 12:29b-31)
This is the first commandment:
HEAR O ISRAEL,
THE LORD OUR GOD,
THE LORD IS ONE!
THEREFORE YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD
WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
WITH ALL YOUR MIND,
AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.

This is the second commandment:
YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.
There is no greater commandment than these.

Anthem "Because He Lives" W. Gaither

THE WORD OF GOD
*Responsive Reading: "Ichthus" - Pectorius of Autun, 3rd century
