Proper 25C

We welcome in a spirit of silence as the prelude begins our service.

The flowers today are given to the glory of God and in loving memory of Charles B. Lood by Rose & Susan and in memory of my beloved son, Bill Buffa by Carol Dickert & brother, Mike Buffa.

OUR APPROACH TO GOD
Prelude
Introit "O For a Thousand Tongues" C. Glazer

Welcome

Call to Worship: Psalm 63
My soul finds rest in God alone;
FROM GOD ALONE COMES MY SALVATION.
My salvation and my honor depend on God;
TRUST IN GOD AT ALL TIMES, O PEOPLE AND POUR OUT YOUR HEARTS TO GOD.

*Hymn 441 "Take Time to Be Holy"

Let us be before our God in silence.

Unison Prayer: Psalm 57
HAVE MERCY ON ME, O GOD, HAVE MERCY ON ME, FOR IN YOU MY SOUL TAKES REFUGE. I WILL TAKE REFUGE IN THE SHADOW OF YOUR WINGS...MY HEART IS STEADFAST, O GOD, MY HEART IS STEADFAST; I WILL PRAISE YOU, O LORD, AMONG THE NATIONS. I WILL SING OF YOU AMONG THE PEOPLES. FOR GREAT IS YOUR LOVE, REACHING TO THE HEAVENS; YOUR FAITHFULNESS REACHING TO THE SKIES.

Kyrie (sung)
LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US.
CHRIST, HAVE MERCY ON US.
LORD, HAVE MERCY ON US.

A Word of Assurance

The Summary of the Law (Mark 12:29b-31)
This is the first commandment:
HEAR O ISRAEL,
THE LORD OUR GOD,
THE LORD IS ONE!
THEREFORE YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD
WITH ALL YOUR HEART,
WITH ALL YOUR SOUL,
WITH ALL YOUR MIND,

This is the second commandment:
YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.
There is no greater commandment than these.
